Guide to Child Abuse Training and NCLEX Application Process

1. Complete Act 31 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting - all persons applying for issuance of an initial license shall be required to complete 3 hours of DHS approved training in child abuse as a condition of licensure. The course provider will electronically submit your name, date of attendance, etc., to the Board. This is required to take the NCLEX. The following website is a free course: www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu - when you register your name, make sure you sign your name the same way as your identification ( i.e. driver s license) you will be using when you take your boards. If students have any problems they can email: helpcpsl@pitt.edu or call 717-605-0236. 2. Apply for licensing with ONE state board of nursing ($35-$70 fee). 3. Register and pay fee ($200) to Pearson VUE for NCLEX exam. 4. Receive Acknowledgement of Receipt of Registration from Pearson VUE by email.

5. State Board of nursing makes you eligible in the Pearson VUE system. 6. Receive Authorization to Test (ATT) email from Pearson VUE. 7. Schedule your exam appointment via the internet after you have received the Green Light from ATI. 8. Arrive for the exam appointment and present your acceptable identification. 9. Receive your official results from your board of nursing (up to six weeks after your exam).

When the CON has been notified that degrees have been conferred: ALL students (PA as well as out of state) will receive an email from CON (mxh60@psu.edu) that NEV has been submitted to the PA SBN.
