  2. Criteria for Evaluating Applicants Items in bold should be focused on by the committee. Items in purple apply primarily to Impact Grants. Organization Credibility Financial Health / Use of Funds Community Impact Overall Project Appeal Employee Engagement Passion of the Champion (e.g., strength of support statement, Champion has engaged other colleagues to support the organization) Your overall impression of the proposed project Clear measurable outcomes are defined Quality of leadership, staff, board of directors - Existing or potential for strong organizational leadership/governance Program budget in the proposal indicates an appropriate and efficient allocation of resources Creates long-term benefits that go beyond the immediate provision of services Is the proposal quality as expected? (e.g., the proposal should be well thought out and appropriate financial information provided) Organizational financial health History and reputation Depth of relationship with champion Sustainable program Competitive analysis: How good is this program compared to others addressing this need? Does the proposal appear to be a good investment? (e.g., fiscal responsibility) Innovative approach (where applicable) Opportunity for employee volunteerism and/or other potential demonstration of support by colleagues (where applicable) Reputational risk to YEF from association with this organization appears low. Scalable/replicable (where applicable) Can the organization leverage YEF resources to stimulate giving from other sources? Plans for long-term organizational sustainability Issue addressed by the proposal is aligned with YEF values and grantmaking strategies Would YEF funding have the potential for significant impact on community/issue? Collaborations with like- minded organizations (where applicable)

  3. YEF Spark Write Ups Strengths could include: Strong metrics Innovative approach to solving a problem Strong financials YEF Champions connection to org Weaknesses could include: Lack of metrics Established program that doesn t spark something new or innovative Weak financials

  4. YEF Impact Write Ups Items of particular interests: Employee level of involvement Public reputation Financial Health Percentage of budget to be funded by YEF Program cost per person Competitive analysis how does this org compare to others working in this space Performance on past grants did the org meet the goals they proposed.
