  1. GYMNASTICS Gymnastics is a sport practiced by men and women that requires balance,strength,flexibility,endurance and control. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms,legs,shoulders,back,chest and abdominal muscle groups. BY Dr ASHISH DUBEY

HISTORY OF GYMNASTICS Gymnastics was introduced in early Greek civilization to facilitate bodily development through a series of exercises that included running,jumping,swimming,throwing,wrestli ng and weight lifting.The Romans,after conquering Greece,developed the activities with a more formal sport,and they used the gymnasiums to physically prepare their legions for warfare.

  3. HISTORY OF GYMNASTICS IN INDIA The Gymnastics Federation of India (GFI) pioneer of Gymnastics in India come in existence on 17th February 1951 with the main aim to encourage, promote,control and popularize the competitive Gymnastics in the union of India and had its first meeting at National Sports Club Worli Mumbai.
