It is our responsibility to ensure that every student is afforded a safe and welcoming learning environment, In consideration of this , and the increasing awareness of the negative and fatal interaction between community and law enforcement ( specifically within our Black and Brown c communities ) the Superintendent convened this task force to review and evaluate the Harrisonburg Public Schools current School Resource Program as part of their School Safety Audit. KEY FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS PROCESS DISCUSSIONS WHAT WILL BE OUR WORK FLOW? PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION

  6. Considerations Spending additional time, to review the report, supporting materials, presentations, and the research the task force had access to. Much of the information is shared on website. Consider a deeper dive in to understanding the substantive, procedural implications of The Memorandum of Understanding on your student body. Consider, many of your students experience the world differently, and the goal is to create an environment where students feel safe, welcome and inspired to do their best.
