Task 1 : Coronavirus has had a huge impact on Care Homes. Label this poster to identify at least 5 ways that care homes have had to change the way they work to protect their clients and staff from contracting Covid 19.
Task 2: This poster tells staff what to do if they are testing a care home resident for Covid 19. Choose 3 things from this poster and explain why they need to be worn / followed. Ie eye shield, gloves, apron, 2 people per test, mask.
Health and Safety in the Health and Social Care Sector There are 4 laws that control the Health and Safety in all workplaces including the Health and Social Care Sector they are listed below HASAWA : Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH : Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - 2002, RIDDOR : Reporting of injuries, diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations - 2013, MHOR : Manual Handling Operations Regulations - 1992. TASK 3: For each of the laws above do a google images search. Find a poster that explains what the law is and what it means people must / must not do. Copy and paste the poster onto a separate slide and label it to explain what it means. I ve done RIDDOR on the next page as an example.
RIDDOR RIDDOR is a law that makes employers report cetain illnesses, incidents and injuries. This helps authorities to make sure that workplaces are safe and makes sure that dagerous occurences are investigated to try to prevent them happening again Not all injuries at work need to be reported it is only a very specific list. The law means that you need to keep your paperwork up to date about these specific types of injuries, illnesses and accidents.
Task 4 : What is person centred care? Use this diagram and any of your won research to explain what person centred care is.
