Choosing with objects Choosing with objects The clip you are about to see is of Evan (22 months) and his Dad at snack time. This video will help you think about how offering choices can help children request what they want.
Did you notice: - Dad holding the two foods slightly out of Evan s reach - Dad pushing the foods slightly forward as he named each of the foods for Evan to choose - Dad pausing to give Evan time to think Watch the video again and look out for the above. - What did Evan do to indicate his choice? - How did Dad respond?
Hopefully you will have seen that Evan responded by pointing and trying to say raspberries . Dad then said the word raspberries to check that he understood what Evan wanted.
