What is a VCE Program? A VCE Program is a 2-3 year course plan.(Yr 10-12) It is an entire set of studies a student will undertake to complete VCE. Students choose from a wide range of VCE studies. It makes good sense to map out a program of study for the 2-3 years of the VCE that gives a sense of meaning and purpose to the final years of secondary education
VCE IN A NUTSHELL VCE - It is the Victorian Certificate of Education A Qualification at a senior Secondary Level marking the completion of Secondary Education Most Common pathway to University but not the only pathway to VCE students
What is a VCE Study? taken over 2-3 years. Number of units can be varied of the Two-year period A VCE study is generally designed to last for one year and is made up of units. A unit is half a year or a semester in length. Units 3 and 4 must be taken as a sequence of two units. A VCE program will generally consist of 20 to 24 units Units 1 and 2 can be taken as single units (that is, just the Unit 1 or just the Unit 2)
VCE STUDY Usually 4 Units Units 1 & 2 Units 3 & 4 Completed in one year Completed in one Year One Unit per Semester One Unit per Semester Must complete both Units to be awarded a Study score out of 50 No External Exam only School assessed Coursework (SAC) Only Awarded S - Satisfactory or N -Not Satisfactory Score calculated based on SAC s & External Exam
