  1. Preparing Bachelor Project

  2. Timeline Exam will be somewhere in the week 4-7 July, but you have to finish and deliver the thesis 10 days before the exam Let s consider the deadline: 20thof June=> 4 months!!! Deliverables: Code (deadline: 10thof June) Written thesis: 50-80 pages (deadline:20thof June)

  3. Administrative details Start-up group informative meeting (choose one, not mandatory, ask your colleagues about what we talk, if you can t make it): Tuesday, 23ndof February , 17-18, CJ101 Wednesday, 24thof February, 17-18 CJ101 One meeting of at least 30 min at every 2 weeks=> 7-8 individual meetings (mandatory) if we can t meet face-to-face, you have to show me online what you did (but it s preferable face-to-face) Between 20th of June and your bachelor exam: 1 individual meeting (mandatory) 1 group meeting - simulation for the final presentation (mandatory)

Individual meetings Have to be scheduled (by e-mail or facebook), on these days: Tuesday, 12-20, in CJ107 Wednesday, 16-20, in CJ107 The first one should take place no later than 10thof March NOTE: You have to take a grade on the 2ndsemester which values 10 ECTS and which reflects your involvement in your final project preparation (this grade is given by me!) You will take another grade for the bachelor exam (code, written thesis, presentation + questions) given by committee, but the starting point is the grade given by the advisor (me!); this starting point != the grade of 10 ECTS (e.g. you can take 10 for the preparation and 9 for the final result or viceversa)

Content of the Written Thesis Introduction Current context of your research, problem statement, argumentation (1-2 page) (deadline: 1stmeeting) Objectives of your research (1/2 page) (deadline: 1stmeeting) Structure of your thesis (1/2 pages) (deadline: during 1thmeeting) State of the art Your application is need-driven and/or technology-driven (deadline: 1stmeeting) Other similar applications/methods/algorithms/ (underline what they don t have) (deadline: 2nd meeting) Research methodology How did you establish the requirements? (survey, literature review etc) (deadline: 2ndmeeting) Requirements (functional, non-functional, req diagram, house of quality, technologies you plan to use) (deadline: 2ndmeeting) Your application Architecture Functionalities (with behaviour diagrams, print screens) Technologies (short description) Your proposed algorithm/new feature about you want to talk more core of your application (if exists) Validation (validation through a survey, experiment, performance tests ) Conclusions & future improvements (why your application is useful, innovative ) References (at least 30, in an uniform style, e.g. APA style) no more than 10 web links you can search here: http://hcibib.org/ www.sciencedirect.com Annexes (pieces of code, not all the code; survey forms )
