Types of English 1 English 1 The standard English course for freshmen students Discussion and analysis of short stories, novels, poetry, and drama Understanding and using the higher level writing process to be success in all classes English 1 Honors For students who are ready to excel in their English classes and earn quality points to increase their GPA. Prepares students for higher level classes

What YOU Can Do! Do your best on the FSA tests. English tests reading and writing skills and strategies Test results determine if you will get just an English class, a plus class, or a reading class. Do well in your English class so you learn the material and the expectations. Success in 9thgrade English will enable your success throughout high school and beyond
Math Algebra 1A Grade 8 FSA math score of level 1 or 2 Algebra I Grade 8 FSA math score of level 3, 4, or 5 Geometry Honors Took Algebra I in grade 8, EOC scores of level 3, 4, or 5 Algebra II Honors Earned high school credit for Algebra I AND Geometry in middle school

Tips/Hints for Biology Practice Studying Habits Explore online activities and studying resources that help you with learning vocabulary Expect to have homework due 3-4 times a week, that needs to be complete within a day of being assigned Practice using a planner to organize homework and balancing a busy schedule Practice using Cornell Notes and summarizing information Biology is a graduation requirement, and students must pass both semesters successfully, or repetition of the semester is required.
Social Studies World Cultural Geography AP Human Geography
AP Human Geography Opportunity to earn college credit! Must pass national AP exam at end of year to earn credit Score of 3 or higher out of 5 is passing Earn college credits! College-level work in a high school setting Homework: Students can expect to have to invest 4-5 hours per week studying, reading and completing work.
AP Human Geography Topics: Religion, Popular Culture, Migration, Population, and more! We discuss topics ranging from why Chick-fil- A is closed on Sundays to why so many products are made in China. The course will focus on the relationships among these topics, how these topics are playing out in current events, and realizing why it s important to learn about the world we live in. Know what you are committing to, but colleges love to see AP courses on your transcript! It sets you apart form other students! Challenge yourself!
World Cultures and Geography Studied via regional approach instead of topic Learn about the different cultures of the world Understand current events and why they are happening Be able to locate most countries in the world Learn brief histories of different regions Excellent preparation for World History (10thgrade)!
