History of Scouting
How GSP started outside the Philippines?
Founder of GSP Lord Robert Baden Powell - born in London on February 22,1857. - He is a British army. -India and Africa-are the first countries experienced , scouting in 1907,Lord Baden Powell brought 20 boys. -1908- started the first movement with a book of scouting. -1909- grand rally in Crystal Palace in London.
1912- retired in army then devoted his life in scouting's. 1920- proclaimed as chief scout and scouting. 1929- he became the LORD Baden after joining scouting requested Agnes Baden Powell for activities for girls. He went/met his wife Olave Suaves after many trips to different countries.
WAGGGS-World Association for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Olave took charge for women.
How scouting started in the Philippines? 1939- scouting in the Philippines by Josefa Llanes Escoda. 1940- started the movement under the regime of Manuel L. Quezon. 1941- World War II started but GSP continued its operation. Troop in Davao- the first troop in the Philippines who registered under U.S
