What is Life skills Holistic development of the learner Equips with knowledge, skills and values that help to achieve their full physical, intellectual, personal, emotional and social potential Encourages acquisition of life skills that will assist then to play an active and responsible role in society. Development of the learner through 3 different but interrelated study areas: Personal and Social Well Being (PSW) Physical Education (PE) Creative Arts (C A )

  3. Personal and Social Wellbeing It is the study of the self in relation to the environment and society. There are 3 sub topics in PSW: Development of the self Health and Environmental Responsibility Social Responsibility Physical Education P.E. aims to develop the learners physical well being and knowledge of movement Through this study area: Develop motor skills Participate in physical activities Nurture positive attitudes and values

Creative Arts It provides an exposure to and a study of a range of art forms Its purpose is to develop learners as creative, imaginative individuals with an appreciation of the arts Creative Arts will be studied in two parallel and complimentary streams: Visual Arts Performing Arts ( dance, drama, music ) Visual Arts has 3 sub topics: Visual literacy Create in 2 D Create in 3 D Performing Arts has 4 sub topics Warm up and play Improvise and create Read, interpret and perform Appreciate and reflect

  5. Assessment Term Grade 4 Tasks Marks per term 1 PSW Design and make 30 PET 30 CAT 40 2 PSW: Test 30 PET 30 CAT 40 3 PSW: Project 30 PET 30 CAT 40 4 PSW: Examination 30 PET 30 CAT 40

  6. General All projects, activities and assessments will be done at school Ensure that your child has pencil colours and twisters as they are required for art. Timeous notification will be given if learners need any additional materials. Kindly ensure that your child brings the necessary materials when they are required as is difficult to continue with work if learners don t have the materials. Learners have been informed on which day they have P.E. Kindly ensure that they are dressed appropriately on that day. Learners will also be given a mark for P.E. for the term based on their participation in the P.E. lessons.
