  1. The Hope of the King The Coming Christmas King 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5

  2. But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, because we wanted to come to you I, Paul, again and again but Satan hindered us. 1 Thessalonians 2:17 18 ESV

  3. For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy. 1 Thessalonians 2:19 20 ESV

  4. Therefore when we could bear it no longer, we were willing to be left behind at Athens alone, and we sent Timothy, our brother and God s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith, 1 Thessalonians 3:1 2 ESV

  5. that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass, and just as you know. 1 Thessalonians 3:3 4 ESV

  6. For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3:5 ESV

  7. Who will be the source of your hope and joy, a crown of boasting, on the day when we all stand before the Lord Jesus?

  8. Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away. 1 Corinthians 9:25 HCSB

  9. For this reason, when I could no longer stand it, I also sent him to find out about your faith, fearing that the tempter had tempted you and that our labor might be for nothing. 1 Thessalonians 3:5 HCSB

  10. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. The one who has the Son has life. The one who doesn t have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:11 12 HCSB

  11. But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name. John 20:31 HCSB

  12. crown meaning victory

  13. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:10 ESV

  14. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV

  15. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 ESV

  16. The pure in heart are blessed, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 HCSB

  17. Boasting in someone means to glory in them .

  18. Who will we glory in, standing with us, when we meet Jesus face to face, at His return, His second advent?

  19. Why the anxiety of Paul?

  20. that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. 1 Thessalonians 3:3 ESV

  21. For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3:5 ESV

  22. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. Philippians 4:11 ESV

  27. You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars. John 8:44 HCSB

  28. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

  32. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:7 ESV
