3 WHO ARE WE WHO ARE WE The Housing Finance Authority of Hillsborough County was created in 1985 by the State Legislature. We are a creation of the State of Florida and appointed by the Hillsborough County Commissioners. We provide services exclusively in Hillsborough County and the 3 incorporated jurisdictions of City of Tampa, City of Temple Terrace and City of Plant City. The HFA generally provides funding for first time homebuyers and Tax Credit Bond financing to developers for Multi-Family renters. We DO NOT DO NOT provided funding for Public Housing.
PRIMARY FUNDING PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCES SOURCES Annual Reginal allocation from Tallahassee on January 2 each year Net operating Income from transactions and programs We operate as a quasi-hybrid entity with revenues exceeding expenses and we reinvest the proceeds back into the community assisting with housing needs.
5 GENERAL SERVICES GENERAL SERVICES RENDERED RENDERED We provide Mortgage Money for First Time Home Buyers along with down payment assistance and Mortgage Certificate Tax Credits. We work with other municipalities to leverage their resources to produce more transactions and access to homes than acting independently. We provided Bond Financing and Tax Credit Equity for developers to build affordable rental housing units. We can be a great resource for targeted large developments which include affordable housing.
6 WORKING WITH OTHERS WORKING WITH OTHERS SPECIAL PROGRAMS SPECIAL PROGRAMS CATHOLIC CHARITIES METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES NEW LIFE VILLAGE SALVATION ARMY We provide rental assistance for some homeless tenants We provide monthly rental payment for homeless tenants We provide security deposits and first month rents We provide rental subsidies for monthly rental payments for Seniors
7 OTHER AREAS OF INTEREST OTHER AREAS OF INTEREST SADOWSKI EDUCATION FOUNDATION FLORIDA HOUSING FINANCE We work with Florida Housing, which is the State Agency for affordable housing to select the 9 percent tax credit projects in Hillsborough County We contribute time and resources for lobbyist for the industry to inform elected officials regarding the issues of all types of housing in the State of Florida through the Sadowski Coalition
