Tide Pool Pre & Post Tests There are three different pre and post tests that we give to teachers. 1) Younger grades: ages 6-10 2) Intermediate: ages 11-15 3) Advanced: ages 16+ Think high school and college biology students.
How / why do we give them tests? How: Jackie and I send them to the teachers via email. They are to be completed in their own classroom before and after their visit, and then sent back to us. Why: This is how we track the impact we are having on students. AKA for funding reasons.
Whats your role in pre & post tests? Study the tests to become familiar with the questions. Try to incorporate the content into your interactions with students. If some of the things don t come up, do not worry! It s up to the teachers to go over the content, too.

Final Notes: I am asking the teachers to send a SCHEDULE of their field trip at least two weeks before their visit. We will then post a link to the schedule on SignUp.com. Hopefully a concrete schedule will keep teachers organized, and us on track!
