IB Mathematics Standard Level Goals: Know and use mathematical concepts and principles. Read, interpret, and solve a given problem using appropriate mathematical terms. Organize and present mathematical information Know and use appropriate notation and terminology Select and use appropriate mathematical strategies and techniques Recognize patterns Use appropriate technological devices as mathematical tools
IB Mathematics Standard Level Topics: Algebra Functions and Equations Circular functions and Trigonometry Vectors Statistics and Probability Calculus
Course Grading: 3 Categories Tests (summative assessment given at the end of each unit): 50% Quiz (given each class as formative assessment): 30% Warm-ups/Exit tickets (given each class as a CFU): 20%
IB Assessments Internal Assessment Also called Math Exploration (20%) Independent out-of-school project with a written report (2000 words) Should provide an evidence of solid understanding of course objectives Should show extensions to the concepts covered by the course rubric provided (personal engagement is a big part) introduced at the end of 1stquarter rough draft due at the beginning of 3rdquarter (January) feedback provided within 2 weeks of submission final draft due in the 2ndweek of February (tentative) Total Points : 20% of overall IB math grade
