ICAO IFPP Report Maintenance SBAS criteria modernization: propose to allow turn at altitude (CA-legs) in the missed approach of an SBAS procedure (currently only turn at waypoint) Publication of high Temperature limits on charts Cold temperature correction in Intermediate Segment of RNP procedures RNP APCH to LPV minima the use of APV I or CAT I design criteria (obstacle surfaces) now according to the system, not the operation Missed Approach Climb gradients: increased missed approach climb gradients shall be published and also altitude where 2,5% is resumed Update of the design criteria for the use of Step-Down fixes in approach procedures
ICAO IFPP Report Integration Recommended Path Terminators in PANS-OPS SID / STAR Transitions CONOPS Helicopters Removal of the MDH add-on for PinSLPV Procedures Job card for RNP AR helicopter operations (starting with RNP AR for RWYs) Quality Assurance Flight validation chapter can be removed from Doc. 8071 V2 (as already capture in 9906 V5)
ICAO IFPP Report PBN new criteria Fly-by turn protection update: bounding circle outside, half-angle cut on inside, using GS instead of TAS, tackle discrepancy between MASPS and PANS- OPS Departure procedures with RF turns between DER and 1NM beyond DER for RNP AR DPs Real PBN: lateral protections based on 3xRNP (2xRNP for RNP AR) without buffer values Merging of ILS, GLS criteria (MLS goes to Doc 9906 Quality Assurance Manual for Flight Procedure Design, Vol 4 Flight Procedure Design Guidance)
ICAO IFPP Report True North ICAO survey sent to air operators, ANSPs, States, 38% strongly support, 23% somewhat support, 30% neutral will take 15 years or more costs between 10k and 1M (but similar to maintain Magvarover 10 year) challenges: transition plan, harmonization, reluctance to change, GA, full reliance on GNSS Dec 2023 establish TN Study Group, develop Conops& Transition Plan by Sept 2024, WP to ICAO Assembly in Sept 2025.
