ICAP Individual Career & Academic Plan ICAP is a way for all students to create, revise, & follow a pathway (academic plan) that leads to career success. Plan: 1. Map out 4 years of HS 2. Dual Credit Options 3. What s after High School? College? Technical Training? Military? Free Tools: Interest Surveys Explore Careers Keep Track of Activities Programs & Majors College & Career Info
Why? By 2020, 74% of all Colorado jobs (3 million) will require education beyondhigh school 12% - Master s degree or more 29% - Bachelor s degree 32% - Some college (Associate s degree or Certification) 26% - High School Diploma or less New jobs in CO requiring postsecondary education will grow 3x faster than jobs requiring a HS diploma 2010-20.
CO Grad Stats 75% Graduation Rate 37% Remediation Rate 3% Dropout Rate (12,256 students) 36% Seniors took AP exam; 22% achieved score of 3-5 37% of 9-12th graders enrolled in at least one CTE class 22% of 11-12th graders enrolled in dual enrollment programs
Whats CIC ? www.collegeincolorado.org CIC is a free tool for students and parents to explore college & career resources and store individualized plan info ICAP is a combination of CIC milestones, information meetings, advising sessions, conversations, and other communication strategies between students, parents, and school staff. It may look a little different in each building.
