Program Overview Gain practical work experience in an area of career interest Will work full-time (40 hours a week for a minimum of 10 weeks) during the summer after junior year Continue part-time (10-15 hours a week) during senior year Students who successfully complete this program will be considered for a II-VI Industrial Career Practicum Scholarship Page 4 II-VI Proprietary

Requirements for Consideration Practicum is in a viable career area for the student and is of interest to him or her Minimum 3.0 GPA Did not fail any course in grades 9 11 No significant failure to complete school assignments Disciplinary and/or attendance problems may disqualify a student We cannot accommodate all sports and extra-curricular activities Page 5 II-VI Proprietary

Job Openings Diamond Turning Intern Job Tasks: Update/create work instructions Assist with tracking and testing of new tool prototypes Assist Engineering with daily projects, R&D, data collection Learn diamond turning machine operation and provide support where necessary Special skills: Mathematics & Physics Good verbal and written communication Team-oriented Detail-oriented Problem-solver Page 7 II-VI Proprietary

  12. Career Practicum Scholarship $500 awarded to college-bound students that meet or exceed II-VI scholarship criteria and agree to work at II-VI during the summer following their high school graduation Students may continue to qualify in subsequent college years if they maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 and work successfully during subsequent summers at II-VI The maximum award for this scholarship is limited to four years and a total award of $2,000 Page 12 II-VI Proprietary

Career Practicum Scholarship Requirements Min. of 600 hours of work at II-VI during the period following junior year through March 31st of senior year Student s course of study in college will be in the technical or science fields Positive work evaluation and a recommendation for scholarship award from the supervisor Submission of two self-evaluations during the program Submission of II-VI Career Scholarship essay that demonstrates college-level business and technical writing proficiency and college-experience expectations The management of II-VI will make final decisions on the award of II-VI Industrial Career Scholarships Page 13 II-VI Proprietary

II-VI Foundation Scholarship Established to encourage and enable students to pursue an engineering, science or mathematics related degree Academic excellence combined with hands-on practical experience will produce the best results for the next generation of engineers and scientists which will have a significant and lasting impact on our nation s capabilities and success The student scholarships are awarded by an independent selection committee Recipients will be awarded up to $10,000 A renewal application can be completed in subsequent years to receive an additional award of up to $10,000 Page 14 II-VI Proprietary

II-VI Foundation Scholarship Requirements Proof that you have had or a statement that you intend to complete 9 weeks of practical, hands-on technical/engineering related work experience in an industrial environment by August 31st An un-weighted high school cumulative grade point average of 3.3 Minimum SAT score of 1200 or ACT cumulative score of 26 An interview must be scheduled to declare your intent to apply for the scholarship Certified copies of your high school transcripts and SAT and/or ACT scores delivered directly to the Foundation Three letters of recommendation, with 1 being from the employer where you received your practical work experience Page 15 II-VI Proprietary
