  1. Social Media and Me By: MingZhen Li

  2. Social media platforms have changed the way we consume and understand information is because it shoves a lot of different perspectives into our view and forces us to choose one of the perspectives or to be left out completely. Before socialmedia, wewere extremely limitedinour means tointeract withothers andwewere limited largelytothe peoplethatweknewin-person.There were thingswe (thosemy ageandolder) hadtodeal withthatmillennialsdo nothaveto yoursignificant other sparentansweringthephonewhenyoucalled, waitingforaletter inthe mail, waitingaweek to get your pictures that yousentofftobe developed, andso on. 3. 1.What value do you get from online social interactions? Staying connected with others makes us feel more connect-ed to the world and increases our sense of belonging. Seniors who engage in creating intentional connections with others improve their mood and overall outlook on life. 4. 2.How is social media and social capital helping form youth culture. Social media also keeps you up to date with things that are going on around the world rather than just in your area. It gives youth a place to express themselves in a way that a public place wouldn't allow us to. It helps to develop social skills, alotoffriendshipscanstem fromasocialwebsite. Section 2

  5. Section 3 1) Yes, one of them would be her not liking the food but lies about it for her photo to get good ratings making it seem she is enjoying it but in reality, she isn t. Another one is the unhealthy mindset of rating people's faces when she is out which I think people in this world do especially when you are very insecure about yourself, so you tend to rate other people.

  6. 2)She gains and loses points based on she posts but also when she rated a guy who wasn t very "popular" she was judged for that and people gave her lower ratings because she was being considerate of someone who had a bad reputation. With this people can't be kind to people without receiving baklash to themselves and the person. Section 3

  7. 3)Social transformation must be realized through long- term and extensive social interaction, which inevitably leads to competition, conflict and adaptation among different interest groups, as well as conflict and integration between new and old cultures. Only through long-term effective social interaction, it is possible to straighten out all kinds of relations, to achieve the replacement of old and new. Social transformation will inevitably bring about fundamental changes in interactive situations and modes. Section 3
