PIZARRO VS ATAHUALPA 1532- Inca just ended civil war with Atahualpa killing his brother for power Spanish arrive led by Pizarro Atahualpa not worried; he had 80,000 soldiers and Pizarro had 186 men Atahualpa invited the Spanish to meet, thinking he would capture them Spanish planned a surprise attack if Atahualpa refused to convert Atahualpa arrived carried by 80 men Spanish soldiers on horses hid
PIZARRO VS ATAHUALPA Spanish monk greeted him and tried to convince him to convert Atahualpa asked to see the Christian prayer book, but when he did not find it interesting, he threw it on the ground Spanish began the attack and captured Atahualpa, and he offered rooms of gold and silver for his life When the ransom was paid, they killed him anyway, and conquered the Inca Pizarro was later killed by rival Spanish
