Impact of Undergraduate Research Programs on STEM Graduate Enrollment
American Indian, Black, and Latina/o students are underrepresented in STEM graduate programs. This study explores the impact of undergraduate research programs on enrollment in STEM graduate programs, particularly for underrepresented minority students. Through a literature review and conceptual framework, it delves into the potential benefits of undergraduate research experiences. Data from a longitudinal dataset comprising over 7,000 students across various institutions is analyzed to understand the relationship between undergraduate research participation and STEM graduate enrollment.
