TH E WH ITE ROCK L AKE WIL D FIRE Before After Destroyed lots of homes Caused millions in property damage Starting to get rebuild permits after roughly 6 months Lots of smoke leftover from the fire Lots of trees and life around the mountains Clear, a breathable sky that is not polluted Fine homes where people can live in During White rock lake fire started by lightning Triggered multiple waves of evacuations Lots of trees were on fire that spread wildly Lots of smoke and fire polluting air Lots of firefighters working hard to turn the fire off Wind spreading the fire onto other parts of the land
BEFORE Cloud Hydrosphere, Atmosphere Trees and plants Biosphere Mountain Geosphere Air Atmosphere Lake Hydrosphere - Plants (biosphere) are growing and thriving on the mountainside (geosphere). - The lake (hydrosphere) evaporates by going through the water cycle and goes into the sky (atmosphere). - The groundwater (hydrosphere) supplies the plants (biosphere) with nutrients, so it lives.
DURING Smoke Biosphere River Hydrosphere Air Atmosphere Ground Geosphere Fire Biosphere - The fire (biosphere) conducts heat, making rivers (hydrosphere) dry up. - The smoke (biosphere) is rising into the air (atmosphere) polluting the air we breathe. - The fire (biosphere) is increasing in size and spreading onto other ground sites (geosphere).
AFTER Mountain Geosphere Smoke Biosphere House furniture Biosphere Trees Biosphere Lake Hydrosphere Air Atmosphere Clouds Hydrosphere, Atmosphere - Leftover smoke (biology) is evaporating into the air (atmosphere). - Bits of burnt house furniture (biosphere) spread everywhere on the mountains (geosphere). - The water in the lake (hydrosphere) evaporates, then the water vapor condenses and turns into clouds (hydrosphere, atmosphere).
