What was Hitler's childhood like? Was beaten severely as a child when he misbehaved His father and teachers were abusive He lost his brother at a young age and took his death hard He was changed as a kid after the death of his brother Edmund He appeared soulless and heartless to other observers He loved arts but was frowned on by his father He lost his mother to breast cancer and took the death hard
Culture/Social norms at the time Hitler was born in Austria At the time it was considered normal to beat and hardly discipline kids Parents wanted kids to become customs officers or have jobs in power or working jobs Art and music was frowned on as a career
Sociocultural influences From childhood: He was beaten and abused on a regular basis Learned to stop processing emotions as a child from the beatings Was beaten by teachers Many children died in infancy (lost 3 young siblings due to sickness In Adulthood - The economy was broken after the first world war - Not many funds were given back to soldiers who fought in the war - During WW2 the world was broken up and destroyed affecting everyone in the world
Biological Influences from Hitlers Parents His father Alois Hitler had: severe anger issues Needed things to be done perfectly Demanded obedience constantly Needed control Was very abusive verbally and physically His mother Very close to Hitler Loved him very much Was very shy and stood by her husband's beatings Supported him Died of breast cancer at a young age
Psychological Influences Served time in world war 1 Was awarded with medals of bravery after getting his leg blown up Manipulated and brainwashed thousands into joining his side to slaughter innocents
Possible mental illnesses? Potential PTSD from WW1 and WW2 PTSD from childhood trauma Severe anger issues from father Massive manipulator (possible narcissist) Potentially a narcissistic or personality disorder Potential OCD from the amount of controlling needed from his father
