AYIA NAPA CYPRUS (HIC)
Positive impacts of tourism in a HIC (Economic impacts) Tourism in Ayia Napa provides 20 percent of the GDP of Cyprus. When the multiplier affect is added this number is at least doubled. Jobs are also created at local hotels and businesses in Ayia Napa, such as the Nissi Beach and the Adams Beach Hotel. These jobs also create a wealthier economy as locals who pay taxes can pay their taxes and have money left over to spend at their leisure.
Social Impacts The local youth in Ayia Napa have a much better night life due to all the clubs that have opened for tourists, example Mambo bar. There are more bus services to Larnica, the capital. There would have been less if it had stayed a fishing village.
Environmental Impacts Lara beach on the Akamas Peninsular has been protected for the green and hawks bill turtles to lay their eggs. All new hotels in Ayia Napa are built with new sewage facilities and fresh water.
