What is a Community? Communities people belong to: A community is a group of people who have something in common sports clubs friends music groups drama clubs religions neighbourhoods
Benefits of Living in Communities Sharing ideas, objects, talents, resources Organising transport, schools, hospitals Providing for people s needs belonging, love, fulfilment, self-esteem
What is Communication? Forms of communication: Imparting or exchanging information by speaking, writing or using some other medium talking face to face talking on the phone texting emailing television writing Facebook
Community Breakdown When a community fails to work and is no longer achieving its aims or is not benefiting its members
Why Communities Break Down People don t carry out their roles A lack of co-operation Poor communication People argue about what is happening Poor leadership
