  2. Why are libraries (and Libraries of Sanctuary) important in 2021? The hostile environment Migration issues Brexit and after-effects Need for information, advice, support, signposting

  3. Libraries can Provide a warm welcome Signpost people to local services & help them settle into a new area Provide access to email and the internet Provide a range of books & other resources Provide space for people to meet (and for classes such as ESOL to take place) Provide a safe space and more

  4. The development of the resource pack Libraries Connected West Midlands wanted to build on the success of the first Library of Sanctuary (Thimblemill Library, Sandwell) Set up a working group to steer the development of the pack including Birmingham, Coventry, Greater Manchester, Arts Council England, Libraries Connected, City of Sanctuary Commissioned JV to produce the pack, but it is very much a collaborative effort by these organisations and public libraries across the UK
