  4. DISTANCE LEARNING CVUSD is currently in a Distance Learning model as per Governor s order. Students are to receive instruction from their assigned teacher and attend class virtually through Google Meet. Student attendance will be submitted daily. Students were to pick up ALL needed texts and practice books from Eagle Canyon August 6th, 2020. If you are missing any texts or practice books, please contact the Main Office and materials can be picked up during office hours. Students/Parents are to submit evidence of their student s learning. Work can be submitted through SAVVAS, McGraw-Hill/ConnectEd or via e-mail with an attached photo. Students will work SYNCHRONOUSLY(Live with Teacher) as well as ASYNCHRONOUSLY(Independently) to complete assignments.

McGraw-Hill/ConnectEd: WONDERS on-line resource. IXL.COM: PTA sponsored On-line MATH learning resource. Accelerated Reader: On-line resource to find reading levels and earn AR points. EPIC: FREE On-line library SPLASHLEARN: FREE On-line Math learning resource.

  8. School Policies Eagle Canyon has 3 Schoolwide Expectations. 1). Be RESPONSIBLE. 2). Be RESPECTFUL. 3). Be SAFE. School Hours Main Office staff are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are visiting the Main Office, MASKS must be worn to be allowed in and get assistance. Main Office will do their best to help families with a variety of issues.

  9. Classroom Policies Classroom Management PBIS System. Students are encouraged or corrected following the 3 school rules. Class Dojo Point System Students earn points for and qualify for monthly incentives. Class Dojo records points and will be used to communicate with parents for ease. School-Wide Expectation Awards, incentives, or treats are earned for acceptable behavior. Loss of privileges or demerits/referrals are possible consequences for behavior that do NOT meet expectations. Homework Homework is practice of skills covered during class. Homework is considered FORMATIVE and is used to assist students work towards demonstrating their understanding of standards. Teachers may assign a variety of work from a range of standards to the students.

  10. Grading: CVUSDs 4-Point Scale CVUSD has moved to a 4-point grading scale. This change is to align itself with the push for standards alignment. Students will be graded on a 1 through 4-point system that breaks down as follows: Student goes ABOVE & BEYOND the standard MEETS standards Student demonstrates understanding of standard Student is working towards standard NOT MEETING standards Student is NOT working towards standard 4 EXCEEDS standards 3 2 APPROACHING standards 1 Administration will be hosting a series of informational meetings to review the Eagle Canyon policies. Parents are encouraged to attend. Keep an eye open for details.

  11. Grading (Continued) Teachers will be evaluating student performance against a variety of standards along with rubrics. Students will be moving across a continuum. (Here, students can be thought of as moving through a learning process similar to learning how to ride a bicycle.) Teachers will be using AERIES to record SUMMATIVE assessments. Please make certain that you have signed in for AERIES. Please see the Main Office for Verification Passcode, if needed. Students needing additional help will be given opportunity to review concepts. The goal is for the student to show growth over time.

  12. Parent Conferences Eagle Canyon will be hosting Parent Conferences the week of September 28ththrough October 2nd. Teachers are available for virtual conferences from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. School will be on MINIMUM DAY schedule for the ENTIRE week. Please see the Parent Conference schedule and sign in for a preferred time slot. If you are NOT able to schedule a conference, please send an email to the teacher to make arrangements for an alternate conference.
