GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduation Requirements 24 credits Must meet all subject level credit requirements! GPA Minimum 2.0 unweighted Testing Must PASS Grade 10 ELA Reading (350 or higher) OR Earn a concordant score on SAT: EBRW (430) or subscore (24) or ACT Reading (19) Must PASS Alg 1 EOC OR 97 or higher on PERT or 420 SAT Math or 16 ACT Math or 430 PSAT Math
Graduation Requirements English 4 credits Math 4 credits, must include Algebra 1 (1.0) and Geometry (1.0) Science 3 credits, must include Biology (1.0) Social Studies American Government (0.5) Economics with Financial Literacy (0.5) US History (1.0) World History (1.0)
Graduation Requirements Fine Arts 1 credit in fine/performing or approved practical art CCC, Journalism, Digital Info Tech, Design Services, etc. HOPE (or Pers Fitness and PE elective if transfer) Online Course Complete one FULL online course If sign up for 1.0 credit class, must do full 1.0 credit online If sign up for 0.5 credit class, must complete online APEX DOES count (but must complete full course) OR can earn 1 industry certification
4 Year College/University Requirements All of the FL graduation requirements AND Algebra 2 2 consecutive years of a Foreign Language (Also BF requirement) Colleges look for RIGOR, should have: Science Math Academic based courses
Online registration www.collegeboard.com/register Cost is $47.50 without essay, $64.50 with essay Additional fee for late registration SAT I 3 Sections: Evidence Based Reading & Writing (required) Math (required) Essay (optional) SAT II Subject tests. Some colleges will require this test as well Test code center # is 100254 College Athletes: Code 9999 on test to send to NCAA Will offer a FREE SAT School Day test for Juniors on March 10,2019

College Admissions What should your child be doing right now? APPLYING TO COLLEGES! Researching colleges, majors, programs of interest (if haven t already done) Visit colleges websites to determine admission requirements/deadlines Visiting college campuses (3 days excused w/ proper documentation) Attending college/career fairs to speak to admissions representatives Ask teachers and counselor for recommendation letter, if required Send SAT/ACT scores, AP scores, official transcripts once submit application

College Admissions-Applications Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success The Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success was developed to improve the college application process for all students as they search for and apply to their perfect college. The platform provides a single, centralized toolkit for students to organize, build, and refine their applications to numerous institutions. Fill out one application, can go to multiple schools as long as they partner with Coalition Florida schools who participate: FSU Tampa UF Stetson USF Rollins Florida Southern FSU
College Admissions-Application College Websites Each college has online application on their website Apply as undergraduate, incoming freshman Will need a copy of transcript if required to complete SSAR SSAR Self-Reported Student Academic Record - is your self reported transcript. This must be accurate or colleges can rescind your acceptance
College Admissions-Steps Steps: Fill out and submit application Send official transcript Official Transcript complete YELLOW transcript request card and give to Mrs. Smith (located in records) Send SAT/ACT scores directly from online accounts to colleges www.actstudent.org -> ACT www.collegeboard.org -> SAT, AP Letters of recommendation Only required by some schools-check first Give teachers/recommenders at least 3 weeks to write letter Give a resume/brag sheet to person writing letter Keep your grades up ALL YEAR Colleges will ask for a final transcript, can rescind your acceptance

Bright Futures paperwork Turn in hours logs and reflection for community service ASAP How to check if turned in hours: Go to portal, click demographic at the top, click graduation on the left side, look at community service hours to see if any are logged If not, you need to turn in a copy of hours log to counselor ASAP Fill out FFAA Florida Financial Aid Application - ASAP, opened October 1st Community service paperwork can be found on school website Click Guidance under shortcuts, then click Bright Futures
