Covid InforATION The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education (ADECE) supports in-person instruction for all students with remote learning offered to students in the event a student is excluded due to COVID-19, a site or class is closed due to COVID-19, or a school system delays opening for in-person instruction due to COVID-19. The information in this powerpoint presentation is provided to give you an overview of the Pre-K Program in Autauga County. However, this information may be adjusted accordingly as situations and information evolve concerning COVID as well as guidance provided by ACBOE and local/state health officials. A more detailed plan with procedures and guidelines directly related to COVID may be found on the school s website www.prattvilleprimary.com Autauga County Pre-K Program Roadmap to Reopening Schools as well as information on the ACBOE website ACS Reopening and Appendices www.acboe.net.

  6. First Day of School Refer to your paperwork for your child s first day of school (either Sept. 8th of 9th) and the time you should arrive. Please feed your child breakfast before bringing them to school. Park in the bus loop at your designated time. A teacher will be in this area and will direct you where to enter. Our classroom is located in the White Hall. You will be allowed to walk your child to the door of the classroom for the first day only. Masks must be worn and no more than two people may walk in with students.

  7. Arrival and Dismissal (First Week of School) Our class has been divided into two groups for a staggered start to school. On the first two days, only the group indicated will come to school. You have been assigned an arrival time on your child s first day. Please refer to your paperwork. Starting September 10, you will drop your child off in the bus loop. See times below. Sept. 8 Staggered Arrival, Dismissal 2:05-2:30 (Group 1 only) Sept. 9 Staggered Arrival, Dismissal 2:05-2:30 (Group 2 only) Sept. 10 Arrival 8:30 Dismissal 2:05-2:30 (All students come.) Sept. 11 Arrival 7:40-7:55 Dismissal 2:05-2:30 (All students come.) For dismissal, you may start lining your car up in the bus loop at 1:50. A car rider tag has been provided to hang from your rear view mirror. It must be visible every day when picking up your child. If you do not have your tag you will be asked to go park and come inside the school to show ID before picking up your child.

  8. What to Bring to School Extra change of clothes to leave at school Two towels for naptime Refillable, leak-proof water bottle Tote bag Meals (breakfast, lunch, snack) Mask *Label everything you send to school with your child.

  9. Masks Your child must wear a mask: Every day when entering or exiting the building During transition times when we leave the classroom such as restroom breaks Any time when social distancing of a six foot separation can not be maintained

  10. Meals Starting Friday, September 11, you may send a breakfast item for your child to eat at school or your child can buy breakfast from the lunchroom. Breakfast will be scheduled to be eaten right after morning announcements. You may send a lunchbox or buy lunch from the lunchroom. Students will have a daily snack time. You will need to send a snack each day. Pre-K students can not buy snack at school and there is no sharing of food allowed. Talk to your child about the items you are packing so they know which items are for breakfast, lunch and snack.

  11. Lunchroom Choice for First Week -Breakfast If you choose to have your child buy breakfast or lunch the first week, please make sure you establish a lunchroom account. You will need to feed your child breakfast at home until Friday, September 11, due to the later starting times the first three days of school. Breakfast Option for Friday, September 11-cereal bar, fruit, milk and juice

  12. Lunchroom Choices for First Week -Lunch There will be 3 options each day. September 8 #1turkey and cheese sandwich #2 turkey and cheese lunchable #3 peanut butter & jelly sandwich Served with chips, mixed vegetables, fruit and milk September 9 #1turkey and cheese sandwich #2 turkey and cheese lunchable #3 peanut butter & jelly sandwich Served with cookie, broccoli, fruit and milk September 10 #1turkey and cheese sandwich #2 turkey and cheese lunchable #3 peanut butter & jelly sandwich served with chips, corn, fruit and milk September 11 #1turkey and cheese sandwich #2 turkey and cheese lunchable #3 peanut butter & jelly sandwich Served with chips, steamed carrots, fruit and milk

  13. School Supplies Individual school supplies will be provided.

  14. Forms and Money Send all completed forms back to us on the first day of school. Money (exact change) must be sent in a labeled envelope. PPS tote bags $10.00 (optional to purchase from the school) PPS t-shirt $10.00 (optional) Lunchroom account money (must be sent in a separate envelope from other money)

  15. Attendance Regular attendance is important for helping children establish routines and enriching them with the full benefit of our Pre-K program. If your child needs to check-in or out, you must handle this through the front office. Please send a note for absences so they can be be counted as excused. We would appreciate it if you could give us a heads-up of upcoming scheduled absences or check-outs by email when possible. If your child is experiencing fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. please do not send them to school.

  16. Family Tree We have a family tree displayed in our classroom. We would love for you to bring a picture of your family with you on the first day of school. This will be on the wall in our room so that your child can look at it whenever they want.

  19. SeeSaw Seesaw is a platform for student engagement and a communication tool we will be using to send classroom announcements and more. Follow the instructions provided in your welcome letter to join. This was mailed to you.
