  2. Welcome *Please make sure to watch the meet the teacher video. You can find it on Seesaw or my webpage (you can find it on the school website) *Also watch Mrs. McNider s video located on the school s website. *Orientation packets will be available for pick-up on August 26th from 11:00-1:00 and 4:30-6:00 on the Northington Street entrance.

  3. Zoom Meetings *We will have a Zoom meet and greet time. This will be a time to get to know each other and an opportunity for questions to be asked. *The Zoom meetings will be on August 31st. *The Zoom meeting ID and password is located on the sheet that was mailed to you.

  4. Health Safety *At certain times during the day the children will be required to wear masks. We will social distance as much as possible but in certain areas that is difficult, so masks will be required. *The water fountains will be closed. Because of this, the children will be allowed to have water bottles. The bottles will have to be sent home each day. *At this time, no visitors are allowed at school.

  5. First Day of School *The first day of school is September 8th. *PPS is offering a staggered start for first graders. This would allow you to walk your child into school. There can be no more than two people with your child and masks must be worn. If you choose this option, your time is listed on the sheet that was mailed out. *If you don t need the staggered start your child can ride the bus or be dropped off in the car rider line. PPS staff will be there to assist children to the correct location.

  6. School Information *All money must be labeled (lunch, etc.) with your child s name and teacher s name *Check the school s website often *If you would like to send in treats for your child s birthday, you can send them to school with your child or drop them off by the office. This year the treats must be store bought and individually wrapped. *Tennis shoes are required at PE. *A snack time will be given each day. Snack will not be sold for the first few weeks this year. Please make sure to send a snack with your child.

  7. Binders and Folders Your child will use a daily binder. The binder will include a lot of important information including: -Calendar for the month with important dates -Discipline page -Reading homework -Other important information: word lists, notes from office, etc. - A letter will be sent home every Monday (or the first day of the school week) with the skills being taught during the week and any other announcements. This letter will also be posted weekly on my webpage found on www.prattvilleprimary.com -Tuesday folder (located in the binder) *It will include graded work that will be sent home to review. *It will also include review work that has been completed. *You may keep the papers at home. *Sign the paper inside the folder each week.

  8. Transportation *Bus information-if you have any question please call 365-6277 *YMCA and daycares- if your child will be attending an after- school program just let me know *Car riders- drop off and pick up is on Northington Street. *Car riders will dismiss early the first few weeks of school starting at 2:00. Eventually, it will be pushed back to a later dismissal time. *Transportation tags will be worn each day the first week of school. These tags are very important and help tremendously. *If you have a change in transportation you must send a written note to school.

  9. Car Riders *Car riders- drop off and pick up is on Northington Street. Someone will be directing traffic. *You must have a sign with your child s name and teacher s name in your front window. The name should be large and bold and can be seen easily. Keep the sign visible until your child is in the car. If you don t have a sign you will have to park and wait until you are cleared through the office. *You must stay in your car *Please practice with your child to respond to their first and last name *Stay calm- the first week prepare for an hour wait, but it will get better very quickly
