Sahaajakis lli - osaamisp omaa koulutusyhteisty ll FINANCING: Stuctural funding in Finland AMOUNT: 300 000 eur TIME: 2 years, 04/2017 - 05/2019 PARTNERS in this development project: H me University of Applied Sciences (forestry) Lahti University of Applied Sciences (wood technology) H me vocational school (forestry and sawmilling) Association of Finnish Sawmillmen

  3. Why? Finland's top export products 2017 Softwood sawnwood 1,9 bill. EUR 6.

  4. Why? Sawmilling education has dissappeared in Finland, Lahti is the only school remaining (but swedish has it even worse!) Sawmilling industry does not find enough good personal (common problem in Europe) Educational materials were too old and only in books (nothing digital) Boost of forest industry in Finland - more sawmilling! Cooperation together with forestry education and wood technology was not done earlier

  5. Results Survey for demand of know - how in sawmilling industry The participating institutions piloted: 1. Digital learning environment, eSaha 2. Sawmilling trainee together with industry Project develop a flexible and individualized learning pathways, horizontal and vertical, the road map for the sawmilling industry for rapid training needs. Benchmarking was done in Germany, Austria and Sweden.

Sawmilling trainee, 2018 15 credits during 2,5 months Target group: students and personal from sawmilling industry, participants 55 on spring 2018 Content: - 6 seminar days - Best know - how from the industry ! - preliminary work before every seminar day - Studying in digital learning environment - 6 exams in internet - 1 larger report

  9. What next? - Sawmilling trainee continues - This spring there will be about 50 participants on the course - Seminar days are partly new - New development project: waiting for the funding (english trainee and seminars also around Finland)
