SIREUS Progress Report Working Groups are involved in all activities Planning of events, mapping of cooperation agreements, definition of focus areas and of thematic areas. Support when project plan / goals & activities are being updated. Feedback on website improvement / update. Regional Chambers are very active, monthly meetings Mapping regions/clusters opportunity with SIREUS members needs. Mapping and introducing potential affiliated universities and events. Events being held SACC-USA Transatlantic Day February 7th (Stockholm) SIREUS ENTREPRENEURS forum (Innovation) February 14-16th , Denver SIREUS CHANCELLORS forum February 21-22nd , Washington DC SIREUS MEMBERS forum May 31st , Washington DC Increased talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S.
SIREUS ENTREPRENEURS forum Innovation Immersion Week in the Intermountain West Conjunction with Destination Start-up in Colorado Boulder and Denver. Focus on life science, AI, sustainability, innovation and founding. Networking with established entrepreneurs and investors in the Colorado area. February 14-17, 2023 LU, UU, SU, LiU 8 start up companies & 20 attendees from Sweden SIREUS total cost: ~ 8,300 USD Increased talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S.
SIREUS CHANCELLORS forum Focus on bringing together thought leaders across government, industry and academia Among participants: 11 Swedish and 14 American universities. Total of 75 active participants. 65 of 68 checked in from Eventbrite Focus on Leadership,Sustainability, Funding, Artificial Intelligence and Soft Diplomacy SIREUS total cost: ~ 23,000 USD No cost for venue, Swedish Embassy in kind contribution Archived on Member Area Increased talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S.
SIREUS MEMBERS forum A mingle event in conjunction with NAFSA 249 registered participants 193 participated in the event 12 SIREUS Members represented 6 Affiliated University represented 16 countries represented 23 US States represented 94 different universities / organizations Total event cost: ~ 5,000 USD (SI will support with ~2,000 USD) No cost for venue, Swedish Embassy in kind contribution Increased talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S.
SIREUS Progress Report Events being planned Study in Sweden Tour is being planned for mid November Chapman University (CA), Washington State University (WA) and Consulate General of Sweden (NYC) Student Fairs are being planned for by SIREUS/ Regional Chambers during 2023 SIREUS RESEARCHERS forum (virtual) being worked on SIREUS ENTREPRENEURS Fall 2023 is being researched SIREUS ENTREPRENEURS February 2024 is being planned SIREUS CHANCELLORS forum in Sweden March 2024 is being researched Academic leadership delegation from UTSA to JU, GU and Chalmers May 22nd 25th Very positive feedback from all parties. Plans are being worked on for follow up. Create 1-2 workshops within thematic areas and or strategic questions that can attract researchers and staff during 2023 Strategic Platform items not yet decided on the forum/format for this topic National Security risks, Export control, Academic freedom, Risk awareness, social aspects for researchers, Research funding Increased talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S.

SIREUS Decision / Discussion / Information Funding Vinnova project SIREUS Strategic Plan to become a Horizontal and Sustainable Platform SIREUS 2.0 Strategic Plan final version is being worked on Report to Vinnova sent on March 23rd and response on April 20th Vinnova har f tt ett stort regeringsuppdrag kring avancerad digitalisering som p verkar hela Vinnova av den anledningen avser vi inte finansiera en forts ttning av SIREUS. The budget calls for another university to join mid-year $20KUSD and Government Support of $20KUSD during the fall. The financial situation will be very strained ..
