How to increase your accessibility score Google Forms: turn each paper form into electronic Google forms don t require a database You do need a g-mail account You can download each form or export it into excel You can manage google forms alone (database is not necessary, unless you want to create the accommodation letter from it) Here is a video in how to create a form, any form, really!

  9. Intake Consider using text and skype to conduct intake (why not?)

Database Many databases are free ( Access comes with Microsoft) You need IT to synch it to SIS to create accommodation forms You can create all forms in a database (OSA- forms- it can generate information using instructor or student emple ID) It can be set up to import all electronic forms into database and excel ( you need IT for this)

  12. Common steps to getting accommodations STEP 1- Fill out the Application: ( can you submit this online?) STEP 2- Documents: (upload it, send directly to Dr. s office) STEP 3- Intake: (skype, video conference) STEP 5- The letter: ( email, google drive, etc.)

Utilizing accommodations Students scheduling exam (database/google forms) Students requesting accommodations every semester (google forms/database) Students requesting books in alternative formats ( google forms) Faculty communicating exam proctoring direction (database/google forms) - Internal help desk ( Work study students specifically to address technology issues and provide training to students and faculty for the accommodation office.

  15. Why Paperless office 1. Saves office/ institution money ( more money for professional development) 2. Staff can focus on student interaction 3. Decrease staff burnout/fatigue 4. Can never loose forms again 5. Save trees 6. Accessible to students- more utilization of accommodations 7. Accessible to faculty- less resistance to providing accommodations 8. One less barrier for us to face as we educate our institutions about accommodations.
