  7. Independence Physical Exam Night Independence Physical Exam Night To be determined June 23rd? We re planning a physical night when we can return. Every athlete needs a physical dated after May 1st 2021 and on VHSL paperwork (https://independenceathletics.com/main/filesLinks/) $40 (checks payable to Independence HS) You MUST register for a time slot!

HAZING Definition To recklessly or intentionally endanger the health or safety of a student or to inflict bodily injury on a student in connection with or for the purpose of initiation, admission into or affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in a club, organization, association, fraternity, sorority or student body regardless of whether the student so endangered or injured participated voluntarily in the relevant activity. LCPS will not tolerate it!

  10. VHSL Handbook Rules cont. 28-11-1 Independent Team Rule Student responsibility for sports participation. During the sports season for the relevant sport, a student may, while a member of a school squad or team engage in interscholastic sports become a member of or participate with an organized team in the same sport which is independent of the school s control so long as such participation does not conflict with the school squad or team. Vacations during Season Communication is the key

  12. **Family Season Pass** Family of 4 with No Pass: Tickets are $7 per person for regular season home events 1 football game .$28 5 home football games .$140 Family of 4 With Pass: Unlimited entry for home regular season events.................$250 Most sports have 9 or 10 home events 1 winter or spring event ..$28 9 home events ........$252 Attending 5 home football games & one season of events $392

  13. Frequently Asked Questions Q: I just had a physical in March, do I need a new one? Q: What is the difference between Freshman, JV and Varsity teams? A: Freshman teams are only freshman. JV may consist of 9- 11th grade athletes. Anyone may play Varsity. A: Yes. All physicals must happen AFTER May 1 for the next school year. Q: What fees are required with Athletics? Q: How does the tryout process work? A: Each athlete is given a 3 day tryout period. Athletes MUST have all paperwork to participate and after a minimum of 3 days, teams will be made. Aug 3rd first day for fall sports. A: Each season there is a $75 fee (to the county). Each team may have other fees for spirit wear, etc.

Fall Sports: Football Cross Country Field Hockey Winter Sports: Wrestling Swimming Indoor Track Boys/Girls Basketball Spring Sports: Track & Field Boys & Girls Lacrosse Boys & Girls Tennis Boys & Girls Soccer Baseball and Softball Crew A: Yes. Some sports will have activities over the summer. Fall tryouts start Aug 2nd, so please plan accordingly and contact coaches for more details. Cheerleading Golf Volleyball Gymnastics Q: When can I start and what do I need? (8th Grade) A: As of June 16th you are a Indy athlete. You will need a completed physical after May 1 to participate.

Winning starts at home Hired amazing coaches with winning pedigrees Positive about my coaches, positive about the athletic department, most important positive about your athlete (Coaches will make mistakes or do things you don t agree with this happens at every level of athletics) Trust the process Off Season is where championships are won Marathon not a sprint The excitement is real!
