  1. Social Media & Me By: Ben Shinkar

  2. Self-reflection Social media has had an influence on me by making a fake standard, created by the top people. This has made me compare things to the best people. I usually only research the story if it is something that is relevant or interests me. For example, Jay-Z got sued recently and I researched that, but the American elections don t interest me as much.

  3. Clip From social media, I find inspiration to learn new things, like recipes and video game moves. It is helping me discover new interests, like fighter planes, or chess Social media helps society in this sense, however there is comparison between people s highs and your lows When I post things online, I usually don t really think about what people might think about it. The only time I consider not posting something is if it could offend someone. Things I post wouldn t really affect my future, as things like Stories get deleted in a day, and posts are really only things like photography.

  4. Consider the future In the videos, people in the world are ranked by a single number, which shows, on average, what people think of them. This is a metaphor for how the amount of likes on social media posts can make people feel better or worse about themselves. The main character lost points because even though her score was high, she was helping someone with a lower number. Points are important to her (and everyone else in the world) because they are used to show status. In general, people are nicer to each other, as their life can literally be changed if a group of people dislikes them.

  5. Critical Thinking Core Competency Facts are statements backed up by science and research An opinion simply shows what sentient organisms prefer For example, things like ChatGPT are only based on facts, and have no opinions, as they are not sentient (yet?) Many things in social media have a perspective and a bias. For example, a video about King Louis XVI from the perspective of someone close to him would show the king as someone good, while a video from the perspective of a peasant would show the king as a monster
