  4. PRACTICE Monday-Friday 3:45pm to 5:45pm every week during the regular season. However, extended practices will occur with every effort to provide advanced notice. Saturday optional practices will be announced by event coaches. Athletes are expected to be on time and properly dressed (weather appropriate athletic attire) for the duration of the practice. Daily practice is not optional and is important for athletes to be in attendance for the development as an athlete and for the team as a whole.

PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS Be on time to practice Participate in warm-ups Listen and learn from the coaches DO YOUR BEST - WORK TO IMPROVE Be respectful of coaches, teammates and other Inglemoor athletes Take care of equipment Clean up after practice - take care of your own stuff! Coaches are not responsible for left items.

  6. MEETS Meets are on Wednesdays 4:00-7:30 and some Saturdays. We ask for athletes to stay for the duration of the meet as this is very important to help build team unity. If an athlete is unable to stay, a parent must sign them before they leave. Athletes should prepare their track bag the NIGHT before the meet. TRACK BAG (waterproof!): Uniform, training shoes, competition shoes, warm sweats, sweatshirt, rain gear, gloves, hat, food, water, extra socks. MEET EXPECTATIONS Be on time for the bus or out at the track at the designated time Participate in the team lap and cheer Be respectful to coaches, teammates, competitors and officials Be on time for your event Clean up after yourself Head phones are allowed in the stands only - not the infield (STATE RULE)

  7. LETTERING POLICY In order for an athlete to letter they must be a member of the team and student body in good standing, abide by team rules, attend practices, team events, and maintain eligibility throughout the season. As well as one or both of the following: 1. Athlete gets a mark or time placing the athlete in the top 20% in the KingCo league for the overall season OR the athlete qualifies for the KingCo Championships (top 16). 2. An athlete on the team for 3 or more years will receive a letter during athlete s senior year.

  8. TEAM POLICIES Track and Field is a varsity and junior varsity sport. We are not a club or intramural program. We must follow WIAA and Northshore School District policies and rules for student athletes to be a part of our program. Please note the following policies: Athletes must attend and participate in 10 practices before they can compete in a regular season meet or invitational. Athletes must regularly attend and participate in practices throughout the season. Athletes must maintain passing grades and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Athletes may not miss practice or competition for an outside club sport. Athletes that practice with the team are expected to compete.

  9. ATTENDANCE POLICY Athletes are expected to be at practice every day. Any athlete who is going to be absent must contact Coach Kurt Spann inglemoortf@gmail.com before the start of practice. ACCEPTABLE REASONS TO MISS PRACTICE Illness that keeps an athlete home from school Academic help from teacher after school (if unavoidable. Strive to focus on academics outside of practice time) Doctor appointment (please try to schedule outside of practice times) SAT/ACT test. Running Start Classes please speak to Coach Spann about your schedule! Pre-arranged volunteer responsibilities (Evergreen Hospital, etc.) Athletes must provide a written note from their parent listing the practice dates that will be missed.

  10. UNACCEPTABLE REASONS TO MISS PRACTICE Club sports (WIAA RULE) Injury: You must talk to a coach and the athletic trainer for an alternate training plan. Athletes who miss more than 10% of our practices or have an unexcused absence will be asked to meet with the coaches and an administrator to discuss their eligibility to train and compete with the team

  18. AWARDS BANQUET We will celebrate our season on Wed, May 29th. Need a parent group to organize food, venue, A/V, etc.

  19. FINAL REQUESTS Finally, we ask that you help keep the practice area clear by doing any pickup/dropoff from the parking lot. During practices and meets, we ask spectating parents and families to stay off of the track, infield, and the marked competition area (throwing and jumping events) Any problems regarding athletes, coaches, or parents, with our team or another, PLEASE speak to me first!
