  2. Gasoline Powered Automobile The first gas powered car was made by Carl Benz in Mannheim Germany in 1887. The car had an engine between the back wheels and power was transmitted by two chains to the rear axle. The invention of the car has influenced people's lives because they can get places faster and easier.

  3. The First Successful Tractor The first successful gasoline powered tractor was made 1892 by John Froelich in Water , Iowa. The tractor had the first gasoline powered engine with forward and reverse. It has influenced the lives of farmers because now they can get more work done in less time.

  4. Telephone The first phone was invented on March 10, 1876 in Bradford Ontario, by Alexander Graham. It has influenced people's lives because now we can communicate easier and faster.

  5. Andrew Carnegie Andrew Carnegie was an industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the american steel industry. Andrew made a difference in how we live today because we use a lot of steel. If there was not steel then there wouldn't be guns and many other things.
