Types of Street Interventions Open Street Pros Cons 1. Fully open and safe for pedestrians, cyclists Businesses can utilize larger patios, retail space can extend shopping area Visitors can maintain social distancing easily Helped the largest concentration of restaurants within the downtown core to expand their outdoor patio footprint by using the sidewalk space in front of their establishment (25) 1.
