The purpose of the survey was to gather feedback from WCMS users on some general questions we had for the WCMS 3 rebuild project The survey was open to all of campus, and was available from July 15 to July 24 64 participants submitted to the survey

Would you be in favour of a change to the behaviour of wide Web pages, so that pages are automatically wide when there is no sidebar content, and automatically "normal" when there is sidebar content, instead of requiring them to be manually set as wide? Yes Sometimes No No response 0% 8% 8% 84%
In some cases, please describe: Yes, if there is still an option to 'make wide' even when there is sidebar content (sometimes a page lower in the tree will have sidebar and you want to easily override that) Mostly yes. My only caution is that a lot of people haven't been updating or removing their sidebar content because it's no longer visible on their widescreen pages. Automatically having a sidebar appear when there is content is going to mean a whole lot of content remediation for folks (which they should be doing anyway) I think I would say yes, but I'm not sure I'd want a page to switch back and forth depending on whether it has a sidebar this month

Further comments or feedback Further comments or feedback Regarding Tint: not Tint specifically but it would be super to have a free or affordable social media aggregator widget (that also includes Instagram). Regarding Promotional items: my only concern with placing them directly on pages is whether they would all update when a change is made. Or trying to find all the places it's located when it needs to be removed. Regarding sidebar content: we use the sidebar to show Notice Board items on our website (we don't have a notice content type). That would be a big change for us. We also use the sidebar for CTAs in the service catalogue area (maybe it could move to Confluence eventually) and under our About sections. We must keep the ability to customize the meta data.
