We have had various meeting with Credit providers based on the complaints that we have received and happy to report that all those we have spoken to have agreed to the Task Team agreements. To mention a few IMAS UNIFI Capitec Eskom Finance African Bank. MFSA (They will promote the use to their members but in remains voluntary) There have also been ongoing conversations with the big 4 and glad to report that they are all willing to work together for the better of all clients. So What has DCASA done for you?
DCASA And VCCB We have an agreement in place with VCCB to offer free credit reports to help grow your business and as they are here today, I would implore you to speak to them for further information.
As I mentioned last year we have been working together with the NCR and the NDCSA to help in dealing with the obstacles we face. Rogue Debt Counsellors. Complaints department. Licence renewals. Flagging issues we see as a threat to the industry. As a result of our interactions I am glad to announce that we have seen the NCR recently raiding various DC s with the support of the hawks to investigate these companies. NCR DCASA and NDCSA
Looking Ahead
DCASA Looking Ahead Continue to Promote the importance of using a Debt Counsellor that is registered with an association like DCASA. Ensure only DCASA members display our LOGO on their website. (Please report any you see that are not registered with DCASA). A link is available to access all Active DCASA Members. The public will be able to complain to DCASA to help build and promote trust within the DCASA brand.
Have a Mentor programme developed for new Debt Counsellors. A basic step by step booklet, is currently in the making for new Debt Counsellors. Ongoing webinars will be held throughout the year to discuss matters arising. Continue to build our relationships with all CP s and stakeholders for the better of the industry. Finally, I know its not the best news but after keeping our membership fees unchanged since inception we have had no choice but to level a slight increase and fees across the board will increase by R50 per month.
