The Attorney Population Today Attorneys in California are much less diverse than the state as a whole Latinos are particularly underrepresented 2
Women and men equally represented among Californians over 18-years of age But women make up only 42 percent of the attorney population 3
However, entry into the profession varies for different racialethnic groups 5
What is the demographic composition of each sector? The private sector reflects the statewide attorney population majority white and male The nonprofit sector is the most diverse 9
