Key Scriptures Three biblical texts in particular have inspired the development of the Shine curriculum. 1) The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in the land of deep darkness on them light has shined. Isaiah 9:2 God s light shines amidst the darkness in our world.
Key Scriptures 2) You are the light of the world. A city built upon a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 We are a reflection of God s light; called to shine that light at home and beyond.
Key Scriptures 3) Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 The light of Christ transforms us and gives us wisdom to do God s will. We cooperate with God to bring healing and hope to our world.
