  2. HB 2862 HB 2862 allows a school district or charter to adopt an Instructional Time Model (ITM) to meet instructional hour requirements through things like remote instruction, project- based learning, mastery-based learning, weekend courses, and evening courses.

Instructional Time Model Overview Instructional Hours - no change from current requirements (only flexibilities) HB 2862 Initial Guidance and FAQ s- original webinar Aug 12th; updated Aug 31st Attendance Tracking Requirements- updated process created to ensure accurate reporting of students participating in special programs Submission Requirements- Submitted to ADE upon board approval but ADE will not approve or reject ITM submissions

PUSD Instructional Models SY 2020-2021- required submission of Distance Learning Plan SY 2021-2022- required submission of Safe Return to In -Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan (ARP Act) SY 2021-2022- required submission of Instructional Time Model if schools are utilizing the flexibilities authorized in HB 2862

PUSD Instructional Time Model Plan Provides medically fragile students within PUSD accessibility to virtual services as well as additional curricular resources Provides opportunities for students who are in quarantine to access course work during their time outside of the classroom Provides an opportunity for all students within the district to participate in remote learning as needed (i.e. snow days or emergency scenario )

Instructional Options for Students in Quarantine PHS- Google Classroom- paper packets may be an option when considering connectivity (asynchronous option) MMHS- Google Classroom (asynchronous option) PMS- Google Classroom (asynchronous option) DVI- Google Classroom (asynchronous option) LVP- Seesaw and/or paper packets (asynchronous option)

  7. Instructional Options for Snow Days or Emergency Scenario Virtual learning Emergency board meeting would be called to further develop next steps including funding impact Communication sent detailing which instructional option will be implemented

  8. Recap of Instructional Time Model Request for ITM submission for MMHS, PHS, Page MS, DVI, and LVP (SSVA does not qualify) Requires board approval and documentation of two public hearings ITM can be updated if necessary Upon approval ITM attendance can be retroactive to begin on first day of school
