  1. A national level experience in integretaing climate change requirements Henrietta Enik Csat Ministry for Innovation and Technology Workshop on Climate change mitigation and adaptation at project level - 5 years experience 9 October 2019, Brussels

  2. Evolution milestones of integrating climate change requirements for EU funded projects in Hungary New EIA directive May 2014 EC Guidance for major projects 2016 National guide to evaluate climate risks of projects May 2017 National regulation of ESIF programmes in 2014-2020 First training in Hungary Nov 2016 New national EIA regulation June 2017 Nov 2014 2019 2018 2019 2016 2014 2015 2017

  3. Beyond EIA and major projects A good example for climate change risk evaluation in urban planning City of Szeged related to the rainwater management system developments (in 2016): considered the city s micro climate characteristics and the potential climate risks at local level (wider scale than micro) simulated the capacity limitations of different development options in case of extreme rainfall events

  4. The 5 years experience TIMING! With guidance: ASAP GUIDANCE! Not only with documents: trainings need to be organized For new , other sectors than transport or green infrastructure: lack of specific climate change expertise can be a problem (e.g. think of tourism!) SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES! With policy and regulation makers: good communication is a must standards and other relevant regulations need to be adjusted as well MONITORING!

  5. About the future Evaluation of the field in 2020 Review of national guidance Mitigation needs to be covered in guidance documents Better targeted capacity building at our managing bodies and EIA authorities
