  4. 2. Recent Achievements 2.1 Focus Group AI for autonomous and assisted driving (FG-AI4AD); ITU-T Focus Group on AI for autonomous and assisted driving (FG-AI4AD) was created at SG16 in 2019. This FG will support standardization activities for services and applications enabled by AI systems in autonomous and assisted driving. It will focus on the behavioural evaluation of AI responsible for dynamic driving tasks, so as to ensure that performance of AI on roads meets, or exceeds, the performance of a competent and careful human driver, and, consequently, to build public trust in these technologies. Past meeting Work streams 8thFG-AI4AD Meeting (Virtual, 1-2 December 2021) Completed deliverables WS1: Outreach through Participation, Collaborations & Public Engagement FGAI4AD-02 Automated driving safety data protocol Ethical and legal considerations of continual monitoring Planned deliverables WS2: Technical Specification and Demonstration TR01: Automated driving safety data protocol Specification first draft TR02: Automated driving safety data protocol Public safety benefits of continual monitoring , Editor: Nynke Vellinga (University of Groningen) latest daft exists. Lab,UK) as chairman

  5. 2. Recent Achievements (Contd) 2.2 Focus Group on Vehicular Multimedia (FG-VM) ; A Focus Group on Vehicular Multimedia (FG-VM) has been established to identify the need for new vehicular multimedia standards based on space and terrestrial networks integration. The study will analyze and identify gaps in the vehicular multimedia standardization landscape and eventually draft technical reports and specifications covering, among others, vehicular multimedia use cases, requirements, applications, interfaces, protocols, architectures, and security, leveraging from previous work done by ITU in this field. The group completed the two deliverable, FGVM-01R1 and FGVM-02. Both documents were transferred SG16. SG16 approved two Recommendations based on these two documents from FG-VM. Future meeting Nothing --- The FG-VM concluded its activities on 1 September 2022 Management Chairman: Mr Jun (Harry) Li (TIAA, People's Republic of China) Vice-chairman: Ga lle Martin-Cocher (InterDigital Canada, Ltee, Canada) Deliverables FGVM-01R2 [Flipbook] further endorsed as Recommendation ITU-T F.749.3 "Use cases and requirements for the vehicular multimedia networks" FGVM-02 "Architecture of Vehicle Multimedia Systems" further endorsed as Recommendation ITU-T H.551 "Architecture of Vehicle Multimedia Systems" Approved FGVM-03 "Implementation Aspects of Vehicular Multimedia . This document will be treated as the last deliverable of FG-VM to SG16, the parent SG of FG-VM.

  6. 2. Recent Achievements (Contd) FGVM-03 "Implementation Aspects of Vehicular Multimedia . The following Figure shows the positioning of the infotainment functionalities compared to the Driving control functionalities. The aim of the figure is to define the boundaries between the multimedia domain and the driving control domain, which out of scope of this technical report. Driving control functionalities are safety relevant and thus Multimedia systems do not interfere with them. But the multimedia systems aims at presenting some driving control relevant parameters to the driver, for instance the battery charging level, engine status or failure, but also the status of ADAS systems when they become active (emergency breaking, lane keeping ).

  7. 2. Recent Achievements (Contd) 2.4 Q27/16 (After SG16 (online, 17-28 January 2022)); Summary Q27/16 agreed with the provisional new work item on Implementation Aspects of Vehicular Multimedia which was coming from the third deliverable of FG-VM. Q27/16 progressed the work of four draft Recommendations: F.VG-AD- Reqs, Vehicle information requirements of vehicle gateway platform to support automated driving . Future meeting Q27/16 will be held in SG16 meeting (17-28 October 2022). Contribution deadline will be 4 October 2022. https://www.itu.int/net/ITU-T/lists/rgm.aspx?Group=16 Management Mr Fernando Masami Matsubara (Mitsubishi Electric, Japan) as Rapporteur Mr Hongki Cha (ETRI, Korea) as Associate Rapporteur 1. 2. 3
