Note for teacher/LSA: How to use this speech sound story Print this presentation out, or use it on a computer/ screen. Present each page at a time. Say what is written in black, then pause for the student to say the target word in blue. Tick if they get it right. If it s wrong, write the way the student said the word on the score form that goes with this story e.g. bear and student says: pear Feel free to point to pictures and use mime to help get the child to say the target word. If this fails/they say the wrong word, say the target word and get them to copy, then mark an (i) next to that word to show that it was imitated and note incorrect word in notes .
Im going to tell you a story and you get to join in. Listen to what I say, then say what you can see.

The baby bear cries and snot comes out of his nose
The baby bear yells go and get my mum the pig starts to . run
The pig looks everywhere for the mum, he looks over a wall
He looks in the flowers
He finds a hat
He finds a tiger
He finds a in a dog bed

Ive lost my son, she says, I last saw him on the bus
Ive seen him! says Pig, he s stuck in a web. Mum quickly grabs her keys
And turns off the light
Puts on her shoes
And shuts the door with a . push
To get to the baby they run down the road
And over the bridge
