Objectives and Structure of Breakout Sessions Objectives To conduct in-depth discussions on next steps in establishing the main activities for the full hub To identify areas of focus and ways of implementing them Structure of Groups 1) Training 2) Policy translation and dissemination 3) Research 2

Training Areas of training Types of training Internal External Modality of Training Duration (e.g. short courses, certificate, degree etc. Mode (e.g., distance, curriculum, modular, level, etc.) Country specific vs regional training Trainee target who gets trained? Funding models (leveraged funding) Other issues 3

  4. Policy Translation and implementation I Air pollution and health Are the existing policies and regulations adequate? Use of international guidelines and conventions What are the pathways from research to action? Need for local evidence to inform policy What are the challenges for implementation? How can the challenges be overcome? Strategic plans for capacity building Enforcement Equipment Coordination of efforts across agencies Overcoming obstacles to policy implementation 4
