  2. Fast Facts -Germans were the first to use flamethrowers in WW1. They could reach as far as 130 feet! -More than 65 million people fought in WW1. Around 6 million Allied troops died, and around 4 million Central troops died. -In August 1914, German troops shot and killed 150 civilians at Aerschot. This was part of a policy called Schrecklichkeit (Frightfulness). This was to deter conquered areas to not rebel. -During WW1, German tanks were first classified as male or female. The males had cannons and the females had heavy machine guns.

  3. Fast Facts -The most successful fighter in WW1 was a German pilot named Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen AKA the Red Baron. He shot down 80 planes, before being shot down near Amiens. Rene Fonck was the Allie s most successful pilot, shooting down 75 planes. -During WW1, the Spanish Flu caused around military deaths. -The total cost of WW1 in the US was more than $30 billion. -WW1 is the 6th most deadliest conflict in world history. -If Franz Ferdinand would have not stopped to visit victims of the attempted assassination earlier, WW1 would not have started the way it did.

  14. Why I wrote this I wrote this because this war ultimately caused WW2, which was the deadliest war in human history. I also wrote this to educate people about a war many people forget about, and to remind people that all wars are awful and matter.
