BACKGROUND OF IAEN Began in 1993 as a group dedicated to economists and policymakers working in the field of HIV/AIDS (21 years old) Operates a website since 1998 (www.iaen.org) Has provided face-to-face meetings prior to IAS since 2000 (Durban, Barcelona, Bangkok, Toronto, Mexico City, Vienna, Washington DC and Melbourne) Operates a LinkedIn group since 2010 (International AIDS Economics Network Group)
BACKGROUND OF IAEN ON LINKEDIN 5,135 members have joined over 4 years 6th largest LinkedIn Group on the topic of AIDS (following the Global Fund at #5) IAEN is the only group on the topic of AIDS and economics

BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION GRANT November 2013: IAEN received a $1.1 million grant to build capacity in the field of AIDS and economics BMGF grant has 3 objectives: Build capacity in 4 African countries (Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi and Uganda) Fund special economic studies in 6 countries (Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa) Disseminate globally information about AIDS and economics
BROCHER FOUNDATION IAEN has received approval to work in 2015 on the development of a special journal focusing on the economics of AIDS
IAEN GOVERNANCE IAEN is a tax-exempt non-profit organization IAEN has a board and will be identifying new board members over the next 3 years
