Steps to follow for Inviting Internationals to Camp Structure and Organization of your camp? o Number and Size of contingents o Age Range o BSA YPT while traveling o How often will you run this event? Recruit local council units or Individuals? Recruit out of council units or not? Paid resident / summer camp staff or an all volunteer staff? 3
Steps to follow for Inviting Internationals to Camp Plan to make international Scouting an important part of your event program o Unique opening / closing ceremonies o Global Scouting activity o Shared meals with meals prepared by the internationals o International night (skits, songs etc.) o International Festival Day 4
Steps to follow for Inviting Internationals to Camp Follow International Dept. Recommendations o Link to National Recommendations Develop Budget Develop marketing plan and invites o Create invitations o Develop web site for registrations Send Invites to Apply o Contingent Leads o IST 5

Verify Applications Support applications for U.S. visas for contingents and IST where required Confirm all participants are covered by adequate health and accident insurance and have any required immunizations Confirm council has appropriate liability insurance 6
Hosting International Scouts and Leaders in private homes Home Hosting - We want to encourage International Scouting relationships; however, it is important to note that home hosting is not an official Scouting event. Therefore, homeowners that still choose to host Scouts/Leaders are liable for any incidents that occur in their home and will not be covered by BSA insurance. 7
